Sooke Potholes
How did our idea of going for a quick ride become the NEVER--ENDING VOYAGE TO THE SOOKE POTHOLES?

Sunday morning of last, Jon and I left the house with the intent of heading to the Sooke Potholes. We had heard they were a bunch of great swimming holes just 35 kms out of Victoria. Being ambitious and believing the distance was rideable we took out the mountain bikes and headed down the Galloping Goose:
-along the tree-lined trail,
-past the Sooke Basin,
-and over the Charters Creek Tressel.
On we rode, passing through the gorgeous back-drop. As the minutes turned to hours, and kilometers added up, I was getting tired, hungry and grumpy. Approximately 3 hours 30 minutes, (running time), and 48 kms later we pulled up to the Potholes. Good thing we packed a great lunch and our swimming clothes. I must admit, it was hard to enjoy the scenery, with my inner voice screaming, "We still have to ride home!"
So, was it worth it?
-seeing Jonny make a splash,
-the sexy sunbathers
It is definitely worth seeing the Sooke Potholes! I am, however, not sure the total time commitment and the saddle/pedal time make riding the best means of trasportation for getting there.
Next visit I will definitely be driving my "gas-guzzling SUV".

Back to School
As of June 28th, 2004, I have officially become a full time Camosun College student. We are now finishing off week #3 and I can already feel my stress level rising. As well as increased stress I have found less and less time for my social endeavors. I find I am having to cut out the "fun stuff" in lieu of book time. Boy does this bite! Does someone remember why I am doing this?
I am finishing off my Mechanical Engineering degree for the next 2-3 years. Walking into class the first morning I was excited to see a couple other girls:
60 Engineering students
3 Girl Engineering students
According to my Probability/Statistics class there is a 1/20 chance of picking a female student at random from the above data set.
Well, being Thursday evening I should finish studying for the 8:00am Friday morning Term Test #1 in Linear Algebra. And after that the Chemistry Midterm Monday morning, and the Computer Programming quiz Tuesday afternoon and......
Onward upward, as they say.
