The next morning I got up anxious to have a bowl of my homemade granola, (I will post the recipe for interest sake), topped off with some yogurt. I opened up the container, only to find a yellowy substance that smelt like beans. Let me tell you, I like beans as much as the next gal, provided they are in a burito served with salsa, I draw the line at putting them in my cereal.

I decided then and there that I couldn't eat this and at that point reread the label of the fabulously cheap buy.

By no means am I dissing Nancy, but the soy thing I couldn't do. How could I miss the big bold lettering on the lid that read "VEGAN'S DELIGHT".

I took the yogurt to the toilet because I don't trust my kitchen sink to drain in the best of times. I tipped the container and giggled to myself as the yogurt came out like a jumbo jello mold and floated around in the toilet. I flushed and the yogurt headed toward the drain, intact, the entire 5" cylinder. The drain in the toilet is 3". I watched in horror as the yogurt plugged the drain and the water level began to rise in the bowl.

As the water reached within mere inches of the top of the bowl and the water kept coming, (it is an old toilet, no water conservation concerns), I realized what had to be done. I formed a fist and punched the centre of the yogurt. Because the drain had been blocked there was a large pressure distribution in the toilet and the yogurt was instantly sucked down into the abyss of the sewers along with the entire toilet bowl of water.

Disaster adverted!

And one other note, to be fair to Nancy and the crew that makes her yogurt, I will try another kind, this time one with milk products in it.
