Flaming Kitchen
I managed to start a fire in the oven this morning.
(yes, the picture was done in AutoCAD)
You see, I had dropped cheese on the element last week and forgot about it... Merely minutes after rolling out of bed I turned on the oven to roast a squash, (I was making soup), and I smelt this funny burning. I was toasting bread at the same time and I figured it was just some really bad smelling bread I bought, (that sprouted wheat no flour stuff). I then looked in the oven only to find a foot high flame. I blew it out, and managed to open all the windows preventing the smoke detector from beeping at me.
Don’t worry the story continues... In my morning brilliance I figured I would put the squash on wax paper to prevent it from burning on to the cookie sheet. I didn't realize wax paper would melt and start smoking. That time I wasn't so lucky and the smoke detector started on at me. It is good to test it once a month, I have heard.
Once all was said and done the soup was pretty good!

good thing that you put it out, and good thing you didn't use magnesium foil...it burns with a violent hot flame.
