Training Mode
Since 10 am this morning, I have been in TRAINING MODE. I have decided to enter the Gutbuster Trail running race. It is being hosted by some people that host races and it is being held at Thetis Lake Park, which is almost in Victoria. There are two distances, the 8km and 15km. At present moment I am leaning towards the 15km one. Having never raced anything over 10km, (come to think of it, never run anything over 10km), I think it will be a good challenge!
As part of my training mode I have decided to schedule "running days" and "work out days" in advance. I may even start writing out the mileage and the times I am doing. Not to mention posting my goal online. Once it is on the web it is real-right?
The other change while moving into training mode will be my decreased consumption of booze. Not that I drink all that much, but now I will only have, at maximum, one alcoholic drink every 24 hours. I should be able to do that for the next 29 days...
Long and short, the countdown is at 29 days, the question is, will I be ready??

What? No way. We totally did some longer runs than that on the North Shore with Clint. You will have no problem at the Gutbusta, Jen. You are a locomotion machine.

Ok, I have run distances over 10k, however, that was when I was running with Clint. I ran with Clint when I was in grade 7 through 9. That makes it only 11 years since I ran over 10kms. You are right Jeff, it will not be a problem.

I remember ...back in my day, running from Procter to Harrop(a distance of over 8 miles!)and back. It was winter, and the CPR had yet to plow the tracks, back then we used to call it the Nelson express rocket, which was slightly less than true because it was really a train and not a rocket ...or a ship. So when I got back to the farm, I had some boiled cabbage. We used to call it "liberty cabbage" and would end up throwing it at the train as it whipped along on the way to Nelson...That crazy nelson express rocket! Sigh
